Key points
A Korean medicine view on recurring summer skin trouble, body heat, digestion rhythm, sleep, and circulation.
Hello, this is Dr. Myunghwi Hong, Chief Director of Acupuncture Hyunginjae Gangnam Diet Korea.
In summer, many people feel skin trouble keeps returning. Sweat and sebum matter, but sleep shortage, digestion rhythm, and internal heat sensation should also be reviewed.
Why can it repeat in summer?
Higher temperature increases sebum and sweat, and sunscreen or makeup may remain longer. If trouble repeats in the same environment, heat sensation and sleep should be checked too.
How are digestion rhythm and skin connected?
When digestion feels heavy, recovery may feel slower. Facial flushing, chin-area breakouts, bowel rhythm, and meal timing can all matter.
How does Korean medicine view it?
We do not look at skin only as a surface symptom. Body balance and daily rhythm are checked, and herbal medicine, pharmacopuncture, acupuncture, or lifestyle guidance may be considered by condition.
